Description
An antique Chevy pickup truck parked in front of a Christmas shop on a snowy day in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. This is a digital compilation of my own images with an oil painting effect. Great holiday or seasonal winter decor.
Jim Thorpe is a charming small town in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. This town is so nostalgic. It's like a step back in time in a European village, with unique shops and eateries, old fashioned street lights, Victorian buildings and the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. The town is filled with a rich history of coal mining and millionaires who lived in beautiful mansions.
Jim Thorpe, a coal mining town, was founded in 1818 as Mauch Chunk, and later renamed to Jim Thorpe in 1954. Mauch Chunk was the location of one of the trials of the Molly Maguires in 1876.

Beautiful work. Even though this is a winter scene, it reminds me of Clint Eastwood's old green pick-up in the movie, Bridges of Madison County. I loved that movie!
