Description
On 9/30/11 it was an absolutely gorgeous fall morning at Mt. Katahdin.
Sharon and I took a drive up the Golden Road (logging road) and this was the view of Mt. Katahdin from the bridge near the Appalachian Trail. While we were there, we saw many hikers with full beards who began hiking months ago from Georgia. Mt. Katahdin is their final destination - the most northern point of the Appalachian Trail.

Alright!! I can see that I'm going to have to come back to your site when I have time to give it a serious going over. Lori you are simply amazing. I love the rich depth and incredible light and shadow you capture in your images. What a large talent you have. My vote button is going to break if I'm not careful. Just put you on my favorites list. Thanks for sharing the beauty of life!

Excellent fall colors, Lori. FAV! How was Golden Road? The last time I drove up that road(using the term loosely) it was spring time and it KILLED my van.

You know I love it ... I have to ask ... is that snow on the field to the right??? Sooo beautiful ... Maine is so much farther along, color wise, than we are!!!! WOW!!!!!

Thank you Lois! What you see on the right is a sandy/pebble shoreline - part of a campground.
